I'm back from hiking to the top of Toubkal, the highest mountain in N. Africa. It is about 4200m (14200 ft.) and getting to it is a fairly straightforward, albeit strenous hike. The French Alpine Club has a hut at 3200m, where I slept last night. This morning, we (myself and three French people I met) headed out at 8 for the three hour hike from the hut to the summit.
I was trying to get back to Imlil in time to head out to a small village, where a local man had invited me to say, but I made it back too late.
Tomorrow, back to Marrakech, and then, perhaps the desert.
