Montserrat is truly a magical place. It is the location of the Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat, whose Basilica is one of the most impressive religious buildings I've ever seen. The monastery is set high in the mountains, with large fingers of rock reaching upwards. It is a wonderful place to relax and go hiking.
It is low season, and as a result, I am staying in a 3 star hotel for only $18/night; much more than I'm used to spending, but it's actually the cheapest option, since the less expensive hotel is undergoing renovations.
Tomorrow, I go back to Barcelona, and I will probably stay for a few days, at least until the weekend.
