After a very comfortable and not all that unpleasant 2 days on the bus, we are in Cape Town. Cape Town is not Africa. It is pretty much indistinguishable from a major European or American city. It is modern, mostly white, wealthy, and international. It is not my idea of traveling in Africa, but it is a perfect place to do things like sit in front of a computer and go shopping for a digital camera. We'll play tourist for a few days, and then once Emily heads off for Spain, I'll get to work.
